Compatible phones recognize Wi-Fi QR codes and may offer to join the network. Behavior varies by device and network security.
Yes. The password is encoded into the QR code and can be read by anyone who receives it. We suggest generating guest-network QR codes instead of sharing private credentials.
No. The Wi-Fi QR code is generated directly in your browser. QR Cove does not transmit or store your entered password.

A Wi-Fi QR code can hold a network name and password so supported devices can join without manually typing details. Create one for a guest network, café, or home and keep the network information private until you choose to share the code. Put a guest-network QR code in your home, office, hotel lobby, or café so visitors can join more easily.
A Wi-Fi QR code is best used for a dedicated guest network rather than your main home or office network. Before printing, check the network name for capitalization, spaces and punctuation. Select the correct security option and enter the password exactly. If visitors have different phone models, test with both an iPhone and an Android device. Some cameras display a join prompt, while others show the encoded network information. A QR code does not improve signal strength, prevent abuse, or secure an open network. Changing your Wi-Fi password later means creating and replacing the old printed code.
A simple white card next to reception, an event check-in desk or a café counter is usually easier to scan than a tiny sticker on curved packaging. Keep the surrounding margin clear and avoid using pale green modules against white. Download SVG if a print shop needs to enlarge the design, and scan the proof before making a large print order.
