GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions.

Can I add a fixed payment amount?

Yes. The INR amount is optional. Check the amount and payee in your payment app before authorizing any transaction.

Does a UPI QR work outside India?

UPI availability depends on the payment app, bank and supported region. Test with your recipient payment app.

Does a QR Cove UPI code expire?

The static code does not expire. Payment authorization and VPA validity are controlled by the UPI service.

UPI payment QR codes can include a virtual payment address (VPA), the recipient name and an optional Indian rupee amount. A UPI-capable app may recognize the payment request when scanned. QR Cove generates the static payment URI locally and cannot verify whether an ID belongs to a particular person. Useful for stores, markets, donation booths and other situations where you want to display a static payment address.

How static UPI payment requests work

UPI QR codes commonly contain a payment address called a Virtual Payment Address (VPA), the recipient name, the currency, and sometimes a fixed amount. On a compatible payment application, scanning can populate payment details for confirmation. QR Cove does not verify the recipient, hold any money, confirm a payment, or send a payment request to a processor. For shops, it is wise to verify your own QR with an independent payment app before placing it on a checkout counter.

Avoid payment mistakes

Check every character of the UPI ID and ensure the displayed recipient is correct in the payment app. A fixed amount is useful for a specific ticket or product, but the person paying should always review the amount before approving. Avoid printing a QR over a label that could be swapped by someone else. Displaying a payment code does not prove a transaction succeeded; businesses still need to verify confirmation through their normal payment provider.
