GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions.

Does it detect iOS versus Android?

No. A static QR code contains one destination URL. Platform detection requires a redirect or hosted smart-link page.

Can I change the listing later?

You would need to make a new QR code, unless your original destination remains valid.

Do you host my app or its listing?

No. You enter the official store URL, and QR Cove encodes it in your browser.

♧
OUR PRIVACY PROMISE

Your content stays yours.

Our QR generator does its work on your device. QR contents and uploaded center logos are not transmitted to our application server. The website host may process basic technical request logs. Future advertising services may collect data according to their own privacy rules; we'll update this policy before activating advertisements.

Give users a quick way to open your app’s listing. QR Cove makes static QR codes that directly encode an official Apple App Store or Google Play URL. Unlike a dynamic smart link, a static code cannot automatically detect the user’s operating system and send people to different destinations. Useful on flyers, presentation slides, product packaging and event materials when you are promoting a specific store listing.

Direct links instead of redirects

Many advertisements and packaging designs use QR codes to make installing an app easier. With a static code you can link directly to a published Apple App Store listing or a Google Play listing. That gives you a permanent QR image without depending on a third-party redirect server. However, it can only encode one destination at a time. If you need a single printed code that detects iPhone versus Android and redirects each visitor differently, that requires a hosted webpage or redirect infrastructure outside this free static generator.

Before sharing your app

Copy the store listing URL from the official store page rather than an advertising tracking service. Test the code on a phone that has never installed the app, and on a device using a different account. Make sure the listing is actually available in the audience's region. A static QR code does not automatically change if an app is removed or its listing URL changes.
