QR COVE GUIDES
How to make a QR code for a restaurant menu
Use a menu page you control
Publish a mobile-friendly menu at a stable HTTPS address. A normal web page is often easier to read on a phone than a large PDF. If you use a PDF, make sure it opens without a login and that text remains readable on a small screen. Include current prices, availability and a way to ask staff about allergens.
Generate a website QR code
Choose Website URL in QR Cove and paste the full menu address. Open the address separately to confirm it works. Use a dark code on a light background and keep its surrounding margin. Download SVG for table cards or PNG for digital materials. Add a short label such as “Scan for our menu” and print the menu’s web address as a fallback.
Update the menu, keep the link
A static QR image cannot be edited after printing, but the menu page at its encoded URL can be updated. Keep that URL unchanged when changing dishes or prices. If a hosting provider changes a file link on every upload, use a stable page that links to the current file instead.
Check it in the dining room
Test the final card from a seated position under the restaurant’s actual lighting. Avoid placing the code across a fold or behind glare. Check that guests using cellular data can load the page. Offer a printed menu when someone cannot or prefers not to scan. Periodically inspect table cards for damage or unauthorized replacement stickers.
